On large projects like the Lake Pend Oreille Milfoil Program, aquatic plant mapping technologies are a critical component. Our firm has been at the forefront of using GPS/GIS technologies in this field since the mid 1980′s. We use Aerial GPS cameras, ArcGIS 9.2 and Trimble Submeter GPS units in our aquatic plant management operations. The airborne GPS camera system allows us to collect high resolution imagery and move it into ArcGIS mapping software real time. This data is then analyzed and used in our ground mapping operations.
